Munich beer gardens
Cheers. There is hardly a better place to enjoy a cold beer than in an idyllic Munich beer garden. Here is a short list of the most comfortable open-air restaurants.
Our comfortable Munich beer gardens just around the corner:
Augustinerkeller - just a short walk away from the relexa hotel Munich
Augustiner cellar - even if the name suggests the basement, the Augustiner cellar is a large open-air beer garden of the Augustiner brewery. Tradition here is still very important, which is why the beer is also made in real wood barrels. The beer garden can accommodate 5,000 people and is surrounded by massive chestnut trees. Augustiner is a true cult beer in Munich, as the brewery makes virtually no advertising and is still ranked among the most popular beer brands in the city. A big advantage for guests is also the central location as the beer garden is right in Arnulf Street and just one S-Bahn station away from the main train station.
Koeniglicher Hirschgarten - reach this beer garden by S-Bahn in 15 minutes from the relexa hotel Munich
The kings deer garden - this is the largest of all Munich beer gardens, as it can accommodate 8,000 thirsty guests. The beer garden and restaurant is located north of the main train station in the city deer park. The name is no coincidence, as you can admire deer on the way to the beer garden. The idyllic location in the park keeps away any traffic noise and guarantees a cosy beer atmosphere. You can find here exclusively local Bavarian beer such as Augustiner, Tegernseer and the Koenig Ludwig Dunkel (dark beer).
Aumeister - reach this beer garden by underground train in 20 minutes from the relexa hotel Munich
The readers of the Sueddeutsche Zeitung (South German newspaper) have chosen this beer garden as the most popular beer garden in Munich. The reason being its idyllic location on the Northern edge of the English Garden. During summer it is sometimes not so easy to get one of the 2,500 seats. The restaurant was once a hunting lodge. It was built around 1810 and is a listed building. The beer garden was established in 1892. Here is Hofbraeu beer exclusively offered to satisfy your thirst.
There are of course numerous other Munich beer gardens, but these tips are certainly among the most popular and most comfortable near to our hotel. All what we can say now is ..... cheers.
